Brimfield/Warren - Thomas A. O'Neill, 88, formerly of Charlton City, MA, died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, August 31, 2021.
Tom was born in Worcester, MA, on February 8, 1933, son of the late James Joseph and Nora (Driscoll) O'Neill. Tom was a veteran of the US Army. He graduated from both The College of the Holy Cross, and the former Boston State College. In 1983, Tom retired after a 25 year career as a teacher for the Worcester Public School system. He was an intellectual man who enjoyed living a quiet and private life. Some of the things that brought Tom joy were reading, and going to a library. He was an avid US History buff.
He is survived by 3 nieces, Nancy Gallagher of New York City, NY, Jane Bresnahan of Worcester, MA, and Joan LaCava of Worcester, MA; and his close friends, Krista Virchow of Brimfield, MA, and Victoria Burke of Brimfield, MA. His sister, Mary (O'Neill) Gallagher predeceased him.
Because the Beacon Hospice provided exceptional care for Tom at the end of his life, his family and friends would ask you to consider making a donation in Tom's name to the Beacon Hospice, 36 Williams Street, Leominster, MA 01453.
Private funeral services have been entrusted to Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy Street, Southbridge, MA.
