Charlton – Therese Irene (Chalifoux) Kavorkian, 89, died Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at UMass University Campus in Worcester, MA.
Born in Worcester, on November 3, 1935, Therese was the daughter of the late Clement and Irene (Desmarais) Chalifoux. She worked as a self-employed beautician, retiring many years ago. Therese and her husband, John, moved to Florida in 1989 until she moved back to Charlton after his death. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Therese was also a member of the Red Hat Society of Charlton. In their younger years, she and her husband enjoyed square dancing.
Therese is predeceased by her husband, John Kavorkian, who died in 2013. She is survived by three sons: John “Jack” Kavorkian and his wife, Carol, David Kavorkian, and Stephen Kavorkian, all of Charlton; her daughter, Linda (Kavorkian) Hickok, of Charlton; 3 grandchildren: Kristin Kavorkian, Kristy Hickok, and Michael Kavorkian; 4 great-grandchildren: Serena Hickok, Livia Hickok, Lilly Kavorkian, and Haylee Kavorkian; a brother, Peter Chalifoux and his wife, Maggie, of Florida; and her sister, Carol Goldsmith, of Oxford. Therese was predeceased by her granddaughter, Katie Kavorkian, who died in 2015. She is also predeceased by her daughter-in-law (Dave's wife), Cindy Kavorkian, who died in 2020, and her son-in-law, Roland Hickok, who died in 2021.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, September 19, 2025 at 10:30AM in St. Joseph’s Church, 10 H. Putnam Road Ext., Charlton, MA 01507. A calling hour will be from 9:30-10:15AM in the church prior to Mass. Burial will immediately follow at West Ridge Cemetery in Charlton.
