Southbridge - Theresa "Terry" A. (Fortin) Motyka, 90, died Thursday, December 4, at Harrington Memorial Hospital while surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Southbridge, MA, on October 22, 1935, daughter of the late Clarence J. and Priscilla E. (Talbot) Fortin. Terry was a graduate with the class of 1954 from the former Notre Dame High School in Southbridge. She worked in customer service at Hyde Manufacturing for many years. She was a member of St. John Paul II Church. Terry had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. She also enjoyed playing the piano, going to the casino, but most of all spending time with her family.
Terry is survived by her husband, Stanley Motyka. She is also survived by her sons, Stephen Gravel of Southbridge, and John "Jack" Gravel and his partner, Giselle, of Putnam Heights, CT; her daughters, Catherine Fournier and her husband, Richard, of Southbridge, and Kelly Spinelli and her husband, Patrick, of Southbridge; 8 grandchildren, Craig Ferron and his partner, Priscilla; Danette Lamothe and her husband, Noel; Heath Fournier and his wife, Erin; Shayna McGinn and her husband, Bryan; Kevin Gravel and his partner, Candy; Heather Gravel and her partner, Jerehmy; Cole Spinelli; and Brady Spinelli; 10 great-grandchildren, Kyla; McKenna and her husband, DJ; Payton, Lilly, Callie, Mia, Declan, Caedan, Rowan, and Lexie; as well as many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her first husband, Norman R. Gravel, who died in 1988. She is also predeceased by her sisters, Rita Gervasi and Leona Montigny, and her great-grandson, Trevor James Morris.
Terry's funeral will be held from Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy Street, Southbridge, MA on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, with a Funeral Mass at 11AM in St. Mary's Church, 263 Hamilton Street, Southbridge. Burial will immediately follow at New Notre Dame Cemetery, North Woodstock Road, Southbridge, MA. Calling hours will be Tuesday, December 9, 2025 from 5-7PM at the funeral home.
