In Loving Memory of Steven Joshua Colon
It is with full hearts and deep sorrow that we share the passing of Steven Joshua Colon—a son, a brother, a partner, an uncle, and a friend whose light touched the lives of all who knew him. Steven’s passing is a great tragedy to our family, and though we are heartbroken, we remain grateful for the brightness he has brought into our lives.
Steven leaves behind his devoted mother, Maria Colon, and his beloved sisters, Michelle Colon and Lauren Boutillette-Gil, along with her husband, Andrew Gil; Steven’s stepfather, Lawrence Boutillette; and his cherished nephews, Joshua Colon, wife Iesha, and Giovanni Vitoritto, wife Jenny. And his youngest loving nephew, Anthony Vitoritto. As well as Steven’s great nieces and nephews. He is also lovingly remembered by his long-time partner, Mike Polomsky. On his father’s side, his aunts Sonia Cantos, Ivelise Colon, and Uncle Eddie Colon. His paternal grandmother, Ana Mercedes Torres, and paternal grandfather, José “Joe” Colon. Steven was predeceased by his father, Steven J. Colon.
Steven was a well-known and deeply respected hair stylist who worked for Paul Mitchell and helped manage Mane Creations, the family salon, with his mother for over 20 years. His clients weren’t just clients—they were friends, confidants, and family. Steven made everyone feel special and seen, whether through a haircut, a hug, or a shared laugh.
He was always the first to smile, to crack a joke. He was handsome and bright like the sunshine. He cared deeply—fiercely—for everyone in his life. His light reflected brilliantly in the lives of those around him, and his presence brought warmth and joy wherever he went.
To honor Steven’s memory, we invite those attending to bring a printed photograph of themselves with Steven that captures a moment of joy, humor, or light shared together. Please write your full name, phone number, email address, and the year taken on the back. These photos will be gathered into a memorial album for the family to hold and treasure.
The family kindly requests donations to help cover the cost of Steven’s headstone and other funeral expenses. Any amount is deeply appreciated as we come together to honor his memory.
