Steven E. Besse

Southbridge...Steven E. Besse, 61, died at home December 1, 2022, after an illness.  He leaves his wife of 23 years, Lisa A. (Lizotte) Besse.  They were married June 12, 1999.

He is survived by his son Zachary Besse of Southbridge, and daughter Cassandra "Cassie" Besse of Oregon. He also leaves his siblings Paul Besse and his wife Martha of The Villages, FL, Marcel Besse and his wife Mona of Long Island, Donna Besse of Southbridge, and Kenneth Besse and his wife Kimberly of Brookfield,  many nieces, nephews and cousins. He also had many close friends including Dave Fantaroni of Southbridge.  He was predeceased by his sisters Barbara Diani, and Noela Besse.

Steve was born in Southbridge, son of the late Donald and Jeanette (Lemoine) Besse, and was a member of St. John Paul II Parish (Notre Dame Church), and was a graduate of Southbridge High School, Class of 1979.  After graduation, Steve enlisted in the US Navy where he served proudly for 4 years.

He was employed for over 30 years at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft (Raytheon Technologies) where he worked as a jet engine mechanic.
He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, dirt bikes, fishing, and loved spending time with his family.  Steve had a great sense of humor, and was affectionally known as "The New Sheriff in Town."

The funeral will be held Friday, December 9, 2022, from Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy Street, Southbridge  with a Mass at 10AM at Notre Dame Church (Saint John Paul II Parish) 446 Main Street, Southbridge.  Burial with Military Honors will follow at New Notre Dame Cemetery, 746 N. Woodstock Road, Southbridge, MA 01550.  Calling hours will be Thursday, December 8th at the funeral home from 5-7PM.
