Sturbridge...Stanley R. Ropiak, 82, died December 7, at UMass Memorial Health/Harrington, after being stricken ill at home. He leaves his wife of 60 years, Judith A. (Collette) Ropiak, whom he married September 2, 1961.
He also leaves his sons Gary and his wife Susan of Acton, Jeffrey and his wife Myriam of Andover, and daughter Lori DiBaro and her husband David of Worcester, and 5 grandchildren, Sarah Ropiak, Eric and his wife Kristen Ropiak, Emily, Kristin, and Claire Ropiak, and many nieces and nephews, including his niece Nancy Tebo and her husband Ken. He was predeceased by a brother Edward Ropiak, and 3 sisters Gladys DiPasquale, Irene Leyda, and Nancy Naas.
He was born in Worcester, son of Stanley and Mary (Bastek) Ropiak. He graduated from Commerce High School, and New England School of Accounting. He was a retired Patient Account Manager for various hospitals, and previously worked as an insurance agent owning his own business, and the former Bill Swiacki Insurance Agency. He was also a former Selectman for the Town of Sturbridge for six years, serving as Chairman.
Stanley enjoyed golfing, watching sports, and attending his grandchildren's sporting events.
The funeral will be Monday, December 13, 2021,from Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy Street, Southbridge, MA 01550, with a Mass at 10:30AM at St. Mary's Church, 263 Hamilton Street, Southbridge, MA 01550. Burial will follow at St. Anne's Cemetery, Arnold Road, Sturbridge, MA. Calling hours will be Sunday, December 12, 2021, from 2-4PM at the funeral home.
