Southbridge...Russell C. Smick, 59, died Monday, June 22, at Harrington Memorial Hospital, after a long illness.
He is survived by his father Edgar "Ed" Smick of Southbridge, and 3 sisters Brenda and her husband Jerry Bellizzi of Brookfield, Rhonda and her husband Jimmie Vilandre of Southbridge, and Cathy and her husband Steve Renaud of Southbridge. He also leaves aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and 2 grandnieces.
He was born in Southbridge, son of Edgar and Vivian (Lamothe) Smick and lived here most of his life. He was a member of Notre Dame Church, and was a graduate of Southbridge High School, Class of 1978. He was a proud US Army veteran serving from 1981-1984, and also was an Army Reservist for 3 years.
Russel was a lifelong avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings, he was a member of the Order of Redmen, and the Polish Club. He worked at various places including being a roofer.
