Southbridge ~ Ronald J. Jacques, 81, died Thursday, February 6, 2025. He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley E. (Gauthier) Jacques, with whom he shared 60 years of love, laughter and partnership. Together they built a life filled with cherished memories, traveling, and raising a loving family.
Ronnie is also survived by his daughter Donna Jacques and her partner Bob Mandra of Southbridge, his son Gary Jacques and his partner Evelyn Alicea of Southbridge, his daughters Tracy Leonard and her partner Michael Chisholm of Charlton, and Tammy Palmerino and her husband Gary of Southbridge; 7 grandchildren Corey and his wife Becky Jacques, Marty, Patrick and Mikayla Leonard, Tyler Jacques, Jacob and Devon Palmerino; 4 great grandchildren Rosalie, Alannah, Leilani, and Maison. Ronnie was a beloved brother of Denise Jacques and her partner Tony Nelson of Fairfax ,VA and Paul and Mary Jacques of White Lake, Michigan. Ronnie was also one of 14 , and his siblings include John,Milton, Richard, Robert, Alfred, Scott, Francis, Ronald, Mark, Robin, Anna, Charlotte, Dianna ,and Brenda. Ronnie also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews along with many brothers and sisters-in-law. Chico is also survived by his and Shirley's best friends of over 50 years ,Paul and Louise Parent.
Ronnie was predeceased by his parents George and Alice (Farland) Jacques and Dot Kinney.
Ronnie retired from the Boys and Girls Club of Webster-Dudley , a job he totally enjoyed, and he was very proud of. He previously worked for 20 years for the Town of Southbridge's Waste Water Department. In the past he also worked as a welder at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft and at D & D Welding and Salvage , as a furniture maker at the former American Optical, and he was also employed as a groundkeeper for the former Notre Dame Parish where he took great pride in maintaining the grounds at both the church and at the cemeteries. He had many hobbies, including woodworking, welding, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and traveling.
Calling hours will be Friday, February 14, 2025 from 5-7PM at Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy Street, Southbridge, MA. The Funeral Mass will be Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 10AM at Notre Dame Church, 446 Main Street, Southbridge. PLEASE MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH. Burial will be at a later time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you kindly consider making memorial donations in Ronnie's name to the Boys and Girls Club of Webster-Dudley, 55 Oxford Avenue, Dudley, MA 01571.
