Palmer ~ Ronald J. Emery, 73, died Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Bay State Hospital in Springfield, MA, after an illness.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Nancy (Walton) Emery,whom he married on May 28, 1977. He is also survived by four sons: Gabriel Emery and his wife, Kristen, of Florida; Shawn Emery and his fiancé, Alicia, of Palmer, MA; Matthew Emery of Florida; and Jake Emery and his wife, Jennifer, of Monson, MA; six grandchildren: Tyler Emery, Bailey Emery, Alexis Emery, Ethan Emery, Jillian Emery, and Abby Emery; two brothers: Ernest "Joe" Emery and his wife, Meredith, of Florida, and David Emery and his partner, Kathy, of Southbridge; and many nieces and nephews, including his niece, Shelly Cox, whom he shared a very special bond with. Ronald was predeceased by his sister, Jean Gendreau, who died November 30, 2013.
Born in Southbridge, MA on March 29, 1951, Ronald was the son of the late Ernest "Joe" and Mary (Darlington) Emery. He graduated from the former Cole Trade High School. Ronald worked as a trackman and a signalman for the Rail Road. He later worked as a house painter. Some of his many interests include woodworking, drawing, having many different collections, and he loved tinkering, and building.
