Roland W Leduc, 84 of 31 Therese Ave in Southbridge MA passed away on November 18, 2023 at Auburn Life Care Center.
Roland leaves his wife of 64 years, Shirley (Mahan) Leduc. They were married April 4, 1959. He leaves his daughter Cynthia Proulx and her boyfriend Joe Carrington of Charlton, MA., and his son Christopher Leduc, and his girlfriend Deena Weatherwax of Woodstock, CT., and his granddaughters, Erin Proulx and her boyfriend Christopher Nichols of Southbridge, Kasey Proulx, and her boyfriend Brandon Labelle. He also leaves his sisters Carol Stevens and her husband Lee of Dudley, and Patricia Bellerose of Worcester, his former son-in-law Paul Proulx of Southbridge, and his four great- grandchildren Jordan Nichols, and Jionni Nichols of Southbridge, and Jameson Proulx, and Kaylynn Proulx of North Grosvenordale, CT. He was predeceased by his grandson Joshua Proulx of North Grosvenordale, CT., his brother Edgar Leduc of Charlton, MA, and his brother Raymond Leduc of Southbridge, MA.
Roland was born in Southbridge, March 1, 1939, son of the late Rodolph R. and Patricia (Rock) Leduc and has lived here all his life. He was a longtime member of St. John Paul II Parish, He was a veteran of the US Army stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia. After his military service, Roland retired from the American Optical Company, where he worked for over 50 years as a fireman, and security guard. After retirement, he worked for many years in maintenance at TAG ( senior housing) in Southbridge.
Roland loved to travel to Cape Cod with his wife Shirley where they had a vacation home there. He loved spending time there with his children and his grandchildren. Roland was an avid Red Sox fan, and loved the Celtics, and Boston Bruins as well.
A graveside service with Military Honors will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023, at 11AM at New Notre Dame Cemetery, 746 N. Woodstock Road, Southbridge, MA 01550.
