Southbridge - Roland C. Fontaine, 97, died Sunday, July 4, 2021 at the Southbridge Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, Southbridge, MA. He is survived by the love of his life Lillian (Vlach) Fontaine and enjoyed 75 wonderful years of marriage.
He is also survived by his son, Jason Fontaine and his wife Pamela of Charlton, MA, his grandchildren Michael Fontaine, Nicole Fontaine, Kimberley Anderson, Andrew Nault and Brian Nault, and a great-granddaughter Jeannie Foraker, and his daughter-in-law Gay (Langlois) Fontaine. He was predeceased by his son Alan Fontaine who died in 2016.
Roland served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, and retired from Arland Tool in 1988. Roland enjoyed fishing, hunting, photography and woodworking. He loved his family and was always there with a smile and a helping hand.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Southbridge Rehabilitation and the Hospice of Western/Central MA for the tender care of Roland.
Roland’s life will be celebrated at a private family gathering.
