Robert L. (Bob) Dupuis, 76, of Southbridge, passed away on February 24, 2025 at UMass Memorial Harrington Hospital following an unexpected illness. He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 44 years, Cynthia (Paul) Dupuis, who passed away in June of 2024. He is survived by his son, Gordon Dupuis, his daughter-in-law, Mary (Combs) Dupuis, and two grandchildren, all of Southbridge. Bob was also predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Getrude (Larochelle) Dupuis, a brother, Raymond Dupuis, and his sister, Pauline (Dupuis) Maramo. He is also survived by his brother, John Dupuis, of Texas as well as two sisters, Lillian Dupuis and Jaqueline Dupuis, both of Southbridge. Bob also leaves behind many other cherished family members and friends.
Bob was born and raised in Southbridge, Massachusetts and graduated from Southbridge High School in 1967. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Education from Westfield State University in 1971 and began teaching science at Mary E. Wells Junior High School. While working at Wells, he met the love of his life, Cynthia Paul, a French teacher. Bob and Cindy married in 1980 and welcomed their only child, Gordon, a year later. Bob would later earn his Master's Degree in Computer Science from Lesley University.
Bob was a founding member of the Southbridge Cable TV Committee and served as its chair for several years, recording and directing both Town Council and School Committee meetings as well as negotiating the town's contract with various cable providers. After retiring from teaching. Bob worked at the Family Dollar in Southbridge. He enjoyed reading, going for drives in his car, and listening to music of the 1970’s. Above all else, he enjoyed taking care of his family.
Bob will be best remembered as a profoundly kind, hard-working, and affable man by friends, family, colleagues, and former students alike. It was his fondest wish to have never truly bothered anyone and to have left this world a bit better than he found it.
A graveside service will be announced at a later date.
