Robert E. Brodeur

Charlton/Southbridge....Robert E. Brodeur, 90, died Thursday, February 25th, at The Overlook in Charlton. His wife was the late Jeannette A. (Aucoin) Brodeur who died in March 2018.

He is survived by his son Gerald R. Brodeur of Southbridge, and 3 daughters, Elaine M. Brodeur of Southbridge, Susan A. Bergeron and her husband Peter of Nashua, NH and Gail J. St.Laurent and her husband Michael of Southbridge, 12 grandchildren,  Becky Boyd, Anne Marie Campey, Sarah Brodeur, Melissa Valentine, Matthew Lafleche, Elizabeth Goudreau, Cassie Comtois, Philip Bergeron, Kyle Bergeron, Gary St.Laurent, Nicholas St.Laurent, and Joshua St.Laurent, and several great-grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his son Ronald R. Brodeur of Knoxville, TN, and his sister Therese Brodeur of Sturbridge.

He was born in Southbridge, son of the late Edmond and Eva (Bosse) Brodeur and lived in Southbridge most of his life before moving to The Overlook.  Mr. Brodeur was a longtime member of Notre Dame Church (St. John Paul II  Parish). He worked for many years on the Fall Festival Committee.  He owned and operated Brodeur's Furniture Store, and after retirement, he enjoyed working part-time for Renaud's Furniture & Appliance Store.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, from Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy Street, Southbridge, MA 01550, with a Mass at 10AM at Notre Dame Church. 446 Main Street, Southbridge, MA. Burial will follow at New Notre Dame Cemetery, 746 N. Woodstock Road, Southbridge.  A calling hour will be held on Tuesday, at the funeral home from 8:30-9:30AM.
