Worcester-Rita A. (Medici) Carota, 85 of Worcester a retired office manager, died Thursday October 28, in Rose Monahan Hospice of Worcester after a brief illness.
She is survived by her sons Michael Carota and his wife Linda of Auburn and John Carota of Worcester; a daughter, Antoinette “Tina” Peterson of Worcester; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A brother Andrew Medici and sister Sylvia Cogliano predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Humbert and Blossom (Schnare) Medici. She was a graduate of Commerce High School, Worcester.
Rita was an office manager for many years for the JJ Nissan Bread Company of Worcester. During retirement she volunteered her time in support of elderly patients at local hospitals.
Her passions included travel, reading and most important, her grandchildren. She was a loving mother and big supporter of her children.
The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful help and care given by The Rose Monahan Hospice Home.
Private funeral services will be held for the immediate family. Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy Street, Southbridge, MA 01550 is assisting the family.
