Sturbridge...Richard J. Parrettie, 73, a longtime resident of Sturbridge, died at home Monday, September 2, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.
He leaves his wife of 50 years, Julianne (Leduc) Parrettie. They were married April 19, 1969. He also leaves his son Jonathan Parrettie and his wife Danielle of Charlton, and daughter Jolene Parrettie of Sturbridge.
He also leaves 3 grandchildren Megan Smeltzer of Sturbridge, and MacKenzie and Peyton Parrettie of Charlton, and a brother Louis Parrettie of Holland.
He was born in Southbridge, October 26, 1945, son of the late Louis and Marion (Foisey) and attended the former Cole Trade High School. He worked for 28 years for CPC Engineering in Sturbridge until they closed, and worked for 18 years for D&D Welding in Southbridge. Mr. Parrettie was also a retired longtime call firefighter for the Town of Sturbridge.
He enjoyed travelling with his wife, NASCAR Racing, skiing, and most enjoyed time with his family especially his grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Saturday, September 7, 2019, from 10AM to Noon at Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy Street, Southbridge, MA 01550. Burial will be private.
