Richard H Genereux

Southbridge...Richard H. "Dick" Genereux, 98, a lifelong resident of Southbridge, died April 17th, at Brookdale at Eddy Pond.  His wife of 66 years, Leona Y. (Delage) Genereux, died in 2016. 

He is survived by his son David and his wife Susan Genereux of Holden, MA, his daughter Michelle Genereux and her husband  Joseph Campione of Merrimac, MA, and 4 grandchildren: Matthew Campione, Evan Genereux, Elise Campione and Caitlin Duke.  He was predeceased by his son Mark Genereux, who died February 3, 2025.

Mr. Genereux was born March 13, 1927, son of Homere and Alice R. (Derosiers) Genereux. He was a lifelong member of Notre Dame Church, where he was served on the Parish Festival Committee, and was also a Lector at the church for many years. He was a veteran of the US Navy. 

He retired in 1990, from the Town of Southbridge as the Finance Director/Accountant, after retirement, he had a private Accounting practice for several years.

A joint calling hour for Mr. Genereux and Mark will be held on Friday, April 25th, from 10-11AM, at Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy Street, Southbridge. Burial with a graveside service will follow at St. George Cemetery, Paige Hill Road, Southbridge.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Special Olympics-MA, Yawkey Sports Training Center, 512 Forest Street, Marlborough, MA 01752.  Following the graveside service, a bereavement luncheon will be held at the Kahula Restaurant in Sturbridge.
