Sturbridge - Rachel D. (Peloquin) Monopoli, 91, died Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at the Charlton Manor Rest Home in Charlton, MA.
Mrs. Monopoli was born in Rumford, ME, on July 7, 1934, daughter of the late Emile and Florence (Boudreau) Peloquin. She is predeceased by her husband, Anthony P. Monopoli. She is survived by her son, Michael Monopoli and his wife, Carolann, of Sturbridge; and her daughter, Helen Stansky and her husband, Peter, of Sturbridge. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Michael Monopoli, Elizabeth West, Katy Monopoli, Emily Parsons, and Abigail Starsky, 2 great-grandchildren: Noah Monopoli and Penelope Parsons; and a brother, Marcel Peloquin and his wife Marielle. She was predeceased by her grandson, Nicholas Monopoli; a brother, Reginald Peloquin, her sisters Gilberte (Jill) Lanoue, Deliose Baarda, Simone Peloquin, and Rita J. Dumas.
Mrs. Monopoli enjoyed puzzles, shopping, game shows, music, and painting.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 31, 2026 from 9-9:30AM at Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy Street, Southbridge, MA, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10AM at St. Anne’s Church, 16 Church Street, Fiskdale, MA Burial will immediate follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, 162 Webster Street, Worcester, MA. The family would like to invite those who will be attending Mrs. Monopoli’s funeral service to kindly join them for a bereavement luncheon at The Publick House, 277 Main Street, Sturbridge, MA at the conclusion of her committal service at Notre Dame Cemetery.
