Peter B. Caplette

Southbridge - Peter B. Caplette, 84, died at UMass Memorial Healthcare's University Campus in Worcester, MA, after a short illness, on Sunday, August 20, 2023.

Pete was predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Gwendolyn (Felix) Caplette, who died April 29, 2020.  He is survived by his son, Keith Caplette and his wife, Michelle, of Southbridge; his daughter, Kimberly Quevillon and her husband, John, of Brookfield; and 4 grandchildren: Courtney McGuirk and her husband, Geoffrey, of Nashua, NH, and Elizabeth, Rebecca, and Ethan Quevillon, all of Brookfield.  Pete was predeceased by his brothers Robert Caplette and Richard Caplette.

Born in Southbridge on February 10, 1939, Pete is the son of the late Pierre and Vera (Boehm) Caplette.  Pete owned and operated the former Pete's Spa on Main Street in Southbridge for 48 years, opening in 1967, and closing in 2015.  Throughout the years, he also  worked for McKinstry Oil, the Strand Theater, and Mr. Softie; he also delivered ice cream for both Peter Pan Ice Cream and Friendly's.  

Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy Street, Southbridge, MA has been entrusted with Pete's private funeral services.
