Pauline A. (Provost) Blackmer

Southbridge - Pauline A. (Provost) Blackmer, 77, died Thursday, January 28, 2021, at the UMass Memorial Healthcare of Marlborough. 

Pauline is survived by her husband of 25 years, Douglas S. Blackmer.  They were married May 6, 1995.  She is also survived by four sons, Craig Costa and his wife, Michelle, of Dacula, GA; Gary Costa and his loving partner, Donna Jacques, of Southbridge, MA; Todd Costa and his wife, Darcy, of Dudley, MA; and Steve Blackmer and his wife, Lisa, of Bourne, MA; three daughters, Allison Silvestri of Sturbridge, MA; Darcy Blackmer and her husband, Todd, of  Dudley, MA; and Rebecca Polenski and her companion, Greg, of Uxbridge; her sister, Shirley Pearson, of Lincolnton, NC; her grandchildren, Courtney Costa, Camden Costa, Caitlyn Costa, Ryan Costa and his wife Kaleigh, Emily Costa, Aaron Proulx, Joshua Proulx, Lachelle Silvestri, Nicole Blackmer, and Meghan Blackmer; along with nieces Molly O’Brien, Elizabeth Lagueux, and Kara Clardy, and nephew Kyle Pearson.

Born September 3, 1943, in Southbridge, MA, she was the daughter of the late William Willis and Regina (Gibeault) Provost.  She worked for many years as a Hafter for Russell Harrington Cutlery and also the former American Optical Company as a Production Worker, both in Southbridge.  Pauline enjoyed traveling with her husband, bingo, ceramics, and dining with family and friends. 

The family would like to thank the staffs at the ICU Unit and Hospice team at UMass-Marlborough for their compassionate care of Pauline during her final days.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Pauline’s memory to the American Cancer Society as she was a two-time cancer survivor.
