Southbridge... Paul V. LaFleche, 79, died Thursday, October 23, 2025, at UMass Memorial Medical Center/University Campus.
He leaves his wife of 56 years Lucille (Blais) LaFleche, whom he married September 1, 1969, at the former Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.
He leaves 2 daughters, Renee and her husband Erik Grant of Huntsville, Alabama, and Danielle and her husband Robert Kinghorn of Brimfield, and four grandchildren: Josephine "Josie" Kinghorn and her partner Brenden Brown of Worcester, Lucy Kinghorn and her partner Eian Jolin of Southbridge, Griffin Grant and Juliana Grant of Huntsville, Alabama.
He also leaves 2 brothers Roger J. LaFleche and his wife Lenelle of Brimfield, Joseph and his wife Margo of Southbridge, and his sister Lucille (LaFleche) and her husband Alfred Houde of Hudson, Florida, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Gerard LaFleche (2024), and Philip LaFleche (2020).
Paul was born in Worcester, January 21, 1946, son of the late Gerard E. and Louise (Bourdelais) LaFleche, and was a lifelong resident of Southbridge. He was a member of St. John Paul II Parish, and a former member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Southbridge for many years. He graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes Seminary in Cassadaga, New York, Assumption College where he obtained his Master's Degree in History, and Worcester State University where he obtained his Degree in Business Administration. He taught for many years at Wells Junior High in Southbridge, and later became the School Administrator. After retirement from the Southbridge School system, he became an Adjunct Professor at Worcester State University, teaching History, and retired from there in 2021.
Paul was an active member of St. John Paul II Parish serving as a Eucharistic Minister and often served for funeral Masses. He was an active member of St. Vincent de Paul Society, he was an avid walker, a member of the YMCA, and enjoyed traveling with his family, but most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
The funeral Mass will be Wednesday, October 29th, at 10AM at Notre Dame Church, 446 Main Street, Southbridge. Calling hours will be Tuesday, October 28th from 4-6PM at Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy Street, Southbridge, MA 01550. In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul's memory may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, c/o 279 Hamilton Street, Southbridge, MA 01550.
