With a heavy heart we share the news of Paul Ceccarelli’s passing. At age 74, Paul died on June 8, 2021 at UMass Memorial in Worcester, MA surrounded by his children.
Paul is survived by his three siblings, his sister Louise Flaherty and his brothers, David Ceccarelli and Dennis Ceccarelli.
Paul’s four children Darcy Cook and her husband Scott of Auburn, MA, daughter Kimberly Steed and husband Arthur Steed of Pelzer, SC, son Brian Ceccarelli and wife Catherine Ceccarelli of Dudley, MA, and son Joe Ceccarelli of Auburn, MA.
Paul’s 6 grandchildren Tyler, Matthew, Zachary, Jessica, Kyle Avery and his 2 great grandchildren Dean and Carter.
Paul was born March 8, 1947 to Jean and Arthur Ceccarelli of Southbridge, MA.
Paul went on to attend Southbridge High School and played football with his brother David. Paul had a passion for cars, so, at night and on weekends he would build hot rods in the garage with his father, brother David and their best friend Rickey Lorange.
Paul attended Worcester Junior College and got a degree in business that he later used to start his own businesses.
Paul married Cathy Higgins of Auburn, MA and started a family settling in Webster, MA. Paul worked in sales his whole life to include Nabisco, Pepsi Co. and later as the store manger for Big Bunny Supermarket. As an entrepreneur, he started several family businesses to include a Polar Beverage Distributorship, a very fun Ice Cream Shop in Sturbridge, MA with his wife Cathy, A CPR training business with his children and a financial services business in Auburn, MA.
Paul always found time to do what was most important to him, spending time with his children. He coached softball, football, basketball, baseball, and soccer.
Some of Paul’s favorite things to do included beating us at bowling, barefoot water skiing, boating, working on cars and tinkering in the shed, eating ice cream, camping, watching his grandchildren do what they love, afternoon naps, breakfast at a local dinner, playing horseshoes and pool.
But, his favorite subject always included family.
Please join the family in celebrating Paul’s life on Thursday, June 17,2021 at Sansoucy Funeral Home located at 40 Marcy St. Southbridge, MA from 5 – 7pm.
There will be a short blessing and prayer at the conclusion of the celebration by family friend, Deb Seaman. The burial will be a private service scheduled for a later date.
