Southbridge - Norman J. Dumas, 84, formerly of Webster, MA, died at his home on Friday, April 24, 2020, following an illness.
Norman was a devoted husband and father. He leaves his loving and dedicated wife of 64 years, Joan A. (Hewitt) Dumas. They were married February 4, 1956. He is also survived by three children, Leann Bourque and her husband Trent Banks of Austin, Texas, Mark Dumas and his wife Mylene of Ellington, CT, and Michael Dumas and his wife Dayna of Charlton, MA; 7 grandchildren, Maria Newland, Christopher Dumas, Zachary Dumas, Armand Banks, Samantha Dumas, Veronica Dumas, and Joseph Dumas; and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves 2 great grandchildren, Olivia Dumas and JJ Newland. He was predeceased by his brother, Henry M. Dumas.
Born July 3, 1935, in Southbridge, MA, he was the son of the late Henry R. and Alice (Deslauriers) Dumas. Norman graduated from the former Cole Trade High School in Southbridge. He was a veteran of the US Army. He retired in 1989 from the former New England Telephone Company where he worked for 25 years. He enjoyed playing cards with his family, horseshoes and working with his hands. Norman was a former member of St. Louis Church in Webster, MA and most recently of St. John Paul II in Southbridge. He was a man of deep faith who will be greatly missed.
