Southbridge - Nazmi Agoviku, 81, died peacefully at his home on Monday, February 5, 2024.
Nazmi is survived by his wife of 56 years, Hava (Qamirani) Agoviku. They were married June 13, 1967. He is also survived by his 3 daughters: Mirela Bazimas and her husband, Thanasios, of Greece; Albana Vesho of Greece; and Etleva Doko and her husband, Andre, of Dudley, MA; 7 grandchildren: Artemis, Athinula, Alexis, Edison, Barbara, Isabela, and Janis; and by his siblings: 2 brothers, Ismet and Izet, and 2 sisters, Lumi and Sabi, all of Shkoder, Albania. He was predeceased by his brother, Xhevat, and sisters, Shyret and Safeti.
Born in Shkoder, Albania, on July 7, 1942, Nazmi was the son of the late Xhemal and Adlie (Zyrali) Agoviku. He moved from Shkoder, Albania to Tirane, Albania for several years before moving to the United States 18 years ago. He served as a Commander in the Albanian Army. Nazmi enjoyed writing poems, as well as reading.
Burial will be Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Hope Cemetery, 119 Webster Street, Worcester, MA. There are no calling hours. Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy Street, Southbridge, MA is handling Nazmi's funeral arrangements.
