It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael “Mickey” Keefe, born on March 2, 1980, who left us on November 22, 2024, at the age of 44. Mickey was a beloved husband, father, son, and friend. His vibrant spirit and unwavering love for his family and friends will be profoundly missed.
Mickey was the beloved husband of Kristen Manzaro, his soulmate and partner in life for 20 wonderful years. Together, they built a life filled with joy and raised three incredible children: Marissa, Michaela, and Michael, who were the lights of his life. He also left behind many friends, including his best friend Tony Daskowski. He leaves behind brothers in law, Dominic Manzaro and Michael Manzaro Jr., as well as his father Michael Keefe Sr. and his wife. He was predeceased by his mother Lynn.
A devoted family man, Mickey would do anything for those he loved. He was a great father, a supportive husband, and a true friend. Known for his warm heart and generous spirit, Mickey showed his love through his cooking, whether in the kitchens of San Diego or Central Massachusetts restaurants, where he worked as a chef, or at home for friends and family. His meals were always served with an extra helping of love.
A passionate lover of music, Mickey had a special place in his heart for Pink Floyd and Tool, and loved attending concerts. His deep appreciation for music was a source of joy in his life, and he shared this love with those closest to him. Mickey displayed a steadfast loyalty to Boston's sports teams. He celebrated the triumphs of the Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins and Celtics, and weathered their losses with unwavering dedication. The many championships of recent years brought him immense pride and he loved attending the parades in Boston. He also had a lifelong love for Nebraska football, a passion sparked during a trip to the state as a child with his Dad, and one that remained with him throughout his life. Go Big Red!
Mickey's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His kindness, humor, and passion for life made him unforgettable.
A celebration to honor Mickey’s life will be held on January 18, 2025 from 2pm to 6pm at 11 Lindsey Lane, Charlton, MA. The family invites all who knew him to join in celebrating the life of a truly remarkable man. Please wear your favorite concert or sports team t-shirt.
