Quinebaug...Michael Bergeron, 72, died at home after a long illness. He leaves his son Daniel Bergeron of Charlton, his former wife, Laura (Brousseau) Bergeron of Quinebaug, a brother Edward A. Bergeron, Jr and his wife Carla of Southbridge, and a niece Sarah Katz of Holden. He also leaves some dear friends of over 50 years, Tom and Barbara O'Brien of Southbridge. He was predeceased by his twin brothers Brian P. Bergeron who died in 2011, and Bruce W. Bergeron who died in 1992.
He was born in Southbridge, son of the late Edward A. Bergeron, Sr. and Constance (Staves) Bergeron. He graduated from Southbridge High School and obtained his BS from Lowell Technological Institute. He was a plastics engineer, and research chemist at GTE Sylvania in Waltham, and later employed in Delaware and Michigan, retiring due to illness.
He enjoyed fishing, water skiing, and going to the beaches of Rhode Island, and the Cape.
Michael's funeral Mass will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, May 9th, at Notre Dame Church, 446 Main Street, Southbridge, MA 01550. PLEASE MEET DIRECTLY AT THE CHURCH. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. Sansoucy Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
