Mary Smith Obituary

Charlton...Mary Jane (Blash) Smith, 79, died Friday, September 2, 2022, at home following an illness.  She leaves her husband of 59 years, George D. Smith, Sr..  They were married January 17, 1963.

She is survived by her two sons, George D. Smith, Jr of Charlton, Brian Smith of Charlton, and her daughter Georgina "Gina" and her husband Michael Gardner of Charlton, 11 grandchildren: Chelsea Ferguson, Christopher Healy, Zachary Gardner, Alexis Peden, Marissa Lamontagne, Austin Healy, Amanda Smith, Nathan Healy, Katelyn Smith, George Smith, and Adelynn Smith, and 8 great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her daughter Marie Smith Healy who died in 2004.

She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Peter and Helen (Uniewski) Blash and graduated high school in Worcester, and was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Charlton. She worked for many years as a PCA at the Masonic Home in Charlton.

Mary Jane enjoyed farming, raising race horses, but most of all loved her family.

The funeral mass will be Wednesday, September 7th, at 9AM at St. Joseph's Church, 10 H. Putnam Road, Charlton. Please meet directly at the church.  There are no calling hours.
