Southbridge...Mrs. Marjorie E. (McGrath) Proulx, age 102, a former longtime resident of South Street, died Wednesday, February 26, 2020, at Southbridge Rehab & Healthcare Center. Her husband of 60 years was the late George S. Proulx who died in 2007.
She is survived by her nephew Richard McGrath of Sturbridge and a niece Janet Jenkins and her husband Robert of Southbridge, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was born in Southbridge, predeceased by her parents the late Albert N. and Delia (Paulhus) McGrath, and her brother Warren McGrath. She was a longtime member of Notre Dame Church (St. John Paul II Parish). She graduated from the former Mary E. Wells High School and Bryant College with a BS degree. Marjorie worked with her father at the Albert N. McGrath Insurance Agency for many years.
Mrs. Proulx was an avid newspaper reader and would cut-out articles to share with friends and relatives. She was a very proud lady always wearing beautiful jewelry to match her elegant outfits.
The family wishes to thank the great services she received for many years from the Visiting Angels, especially Gladys, Rosalie, Elaine (Cookie), Sharon,, Bernice and Paula.
The funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 28, 2020, at Noon at Notre Dame Church (please meet directly at the church) 446 Main Street, Southbridge, MA 01550.
