Lorraine Marguerite (Tremblay) Kwiatkowski, formerly of Southbridge, Massachusetts, passed away after a brief illness on April 12, 2023, at the age of 93. She was the daughter of Corinne and Joseph Tremblay and was born on June 30, 1929, in Southbridge. Lorraine was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She leaves three loving children, her son John Kwiatkowski of Fairhaven, MA, and daughters Jane Baugh and her husband Curt of Columbia, MD, and Lynn Kwiatkowski and her partner Neill Matheson of Fort Collins, CO. She also leaves her grandchildren Shannon Baugh, Kelly Riley, Alex Baugh, Jade Pedro, and Katherine Kwiatkowski; great-grandchildren Sophia Baugh, McKenna, Declan and Aidan Riley, and Cooper Baugh; sister-in-law Rachel Tremblay; and nieces and nephews. Lorraine was predeceased by her loving husband of 72 years Theodore Kwiatkowski, her brothers Rev. J. Normand Tremblay and Roland Tremblay, and her great-grandchild Maeve Riley.

Lorraine lived in Southbridge for most of her life. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School. While attending high school, she met Theodore whom she married in 1950. She spent her career at the American Optical Company in Southbridge. Lorraine loved spending her time with her family and friends. Volunteerism was also important to her. She enjoyed mentoring and teaching her own and other children, and served as a Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Brownie, and Girl Scout Troop Leader for many years. Highlights for Lorraine were educational trips she co-organized and co-led for her Girl Scout troop to Washington, D.C. and Lancaster, PA. With her husband Theodore, Lorraine was an active parishioner of Notre Dame Church for many years, volunteering for many church activities, including with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul assisting homeless persons and others in need. She also enjoyed sewing, outdoor activities, and playing cards. She traveled widely with her husband Theodore, having visited 48 U.S. states and several countries. Lorraine was a loving, thoughtful, and caring person who will be missed dearly by all who loved her.
