Leon "Gil" G. Bail

Sturbridge ~ Leon "Gil" Bail, 86, died Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at UMass Memorial Health Harrington.

Born in Southbridge, MA, on January 13, 1939, Gil was the only child of the late Leon R. and Jane Mary (Matuse) Bail.  Although an only child, he is lucky to have known many people he called friends throughout his lifetime.  He is survived by Susan Fauteux and Robert Berthiaume, his dearest friends, who each shared years of life, friendship and, in his later years, care of Gil.  

Gil was a graduate of Tantasqua Regional High School. He served in the US Air Force from 1956-1959. He was a well known and respected realtor for many years in the local area. Gil was a member of the Hamilton Rod and Gun Club. He also enjoyed fly fishing.

Funeral services for Gil are pending, and will be announced at a later date.
