Kyle was hit by an impaired driver on November 1, 1997 along Route 20 Charlton, MA. He was left in a comatose state for a year and has survived thirty-two surgeries and many hospital stays and invasive procedures. No matter what he endured it was handled with a smile on his face and a thumbs up. Kyle was known as a Warrior and an Inspiration to all who crossed paths with him. He was Unstoppable and his love for his family and friends sustained him.

Kyle and his mother Lisa took this family tragedy and became vocal community advocates sharing and presenting their story surrounding impaired driving to local high schools, Boston State House, prisons, drivers education schools, and Community clubs. Together Kyle's family tragedy has promoted safety and reconstruction along Route 20. Kyle has inspired many people to realize that giving up is not an option. Kyle was an artist and people were infatuated by his talent and inspired by his work, inspirational messages and love of art. Kyle is the author of "If I Can Smile, I Can Live" an Amazon Best Seller, a story shared by Kyle on how he handled life's obstacles. No matter what life gives you, you can never give up!

He was honored and received several community awards including the Charlton Hometown Hero Award, The Celtics Hero's Amongst Us Award, and Kyle's uncle David Matte, retired Massachusetts State Trooper, honored him with his badge along with a honorary Navy Seal coin issued by a close friend.

He loved his family and all his nieces and nephews. He loved to joke, scare and make people laugh. Kyle's laugh and smile were infectious and his blue eyes were admired by many.
Kyle leaves a legacy of determination, strength, courage and most of all love for living his best life.

In lieu of flowers one of Kyle's wishes was to have an informative billboard placed along Route 20 raising awareness on impaired driving to prevent others from loss, pain and suffering. A bank
