John D. Fierro, Jr., “Johnny,” 52, of Charlton, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 31st after a courageous 6 month battle with cancer. He was surrounded by the love of his family at the time of his passing.
John is survived by two sons, Alex Fierro and his wife Roxanne of Alabama, and Michael Fierro of Wisconsin. He leaves his little sister, Angela Fierro of Leominster, along with his nephews Taylor and Nicholas; his Aunty Karen Fierro and her husband Gary; his cousins Tiffany O’Brien and her husband Paul along with their children Jack and Olivia of Blackstone; Jason Burlingame and his girlfriend Gail of Charlton. He leaves 3 grandchildren whom he loved dearly; Torie, Craig, and Azzy. John is also survived by his ex-wife, Samantha Harris of Alabama, whom he continued to share an incredible bond with since the age of 18. He leaves many cousins and extended family and friends. John was predeceased by his father John, Sr. and his mother Ruth.
Johnny’s legacy in this world will be his kindness and gentle heart. Even when he needed it, Johnny would never ask for help, but he would always give it. He always said he was ok.
John attended Bay Path HS in Charlton where he made many lifelong friends. But it was his childhood in the grove with his cousins and sister where he made his everlasting friendships. Johnny’s proudest accomplishment was his boys, and family.
Calling hours will be held on April 8th, at Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy Street, Southbridge from 4:30-6:30PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Johnny’s name can be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Autism Research Initiative.
