Jeffrey Demers Obituary

On the most beautiful blue skied and sunny morning of May 8th, in peace and surrounded by love, we said our life’s hardest goodbye to our incredible man, myth and absolute legend, Jeffrey Demers. The world stopped and stood quiet.

He is survived by his spouse, caregiver and mother of their 2 children, Krista Buchanan. His father Allen Demers whom he cherished, his step mother Lynn Demers, his two brothers Jordan Demers and Cedric Demers, whom he loved and whose time and friendship with both meant everything, and was more than happy to have at his side in the last few weeks he was able to be home. His sister Ashley Gerstel, predecased by his sister Amanda Albino. He leaves behind an indescribable and infinite legacy and love for his two beautiful children, Aiden Demers and Scarlett Demers. His nephew Tristan Gerstel, and his close friends, Nate, Matt and Mike, amongst countless others.

There will never be enough time, space or words to say what is needed about Jeffrey. If you knew Jeffrey, that was really all you needed to know. The second he entered anyone's life, his impression on you was everlasting. His kindness and generosity, his never ending helping hand, will live on indefinitely. If you needed anything whether it was to fix your brakes, give advice, lend money and just about anything else you needed help with, Jeffrey was the first person people would call. His intelligence could not be measured or confined, his infinite knowledge of all things was fierce and admirable. And if he didn't know it, by nightfall he would have whatever subject mastered far better than the article or person he was learning from in the first place. He was quite frankly the smartest man to have walked this Earth, and wanted to share his knowledge with all of those around him. The obstacles put in his path would have crumbled most, but he rose up and overcame every single one of them, and ensured those who struggled around him, that success was always a possibility.

He was an immense advocate for colon cancer awareness as well as Man Up to Cancer. Until the end, he was advocating for both, wanting to spread awareness and resources to those affected by the disease.

He was born, raised and resided in Southbridge, attended Southbridge High School and received his certificate for welding from Lincoln Tech.

He had a strong passion for all things fast and loud. He loved cars and bikes, spending countless time building his Hondas on his own for racing, from the ground up. His laugh and personality were infectious and contagious.

He enjoyed watching the Celtics and attending games with his friends and wife. His favorite player was Derrick White.

He was food connoisseur, and enjoyed going to lunch or dinner, especially at Fins and Tales, The Elm Centre, as well as the Johnny Hot Dogs stand on Main street.

He loved taking trips to Florida with Krista, enjoying the warm air, amazing filet mignon and riding up and down A1A with her by his side.

The impact he left on this world for 36 years is unmeasurable, and the silence that he has left in this world since his passing is deafening. His presence in this lifetime will live on in all of those who knew him, forever. Cause it heart hands forever, Till the wheels fall off.

Calling hours will be Friday May 16th at Sansoucy Funeral Home in Southbridge from 5pm to 7pm, and there will be a celebration of his life on Saturday afternoon at his home.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Man Up to Cancer or Colontown.org.
