Warren...Jeannie Griffin, 61, died peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her loving family at her father’s home in West Springfield, MA, after a long courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Bangor, Maine, the daughter of Leslie Harnish and the late Joanne Harnish of West Springfield. She was a dedicated and loving wife to her husband, Terry Griffin, for twenty-four years. She is survived by her son Dustin Armstrong of Lanesboro, MA, her daughters Deanna Barnes, her husband Tyler and their children Randy, Cooper, Taylor and Locklyn of West Springfield, and Anita Griffin and her boyfriend Michael Imse of Warren, her stepson Eric Griffin of Chester, VT. She is also survived by her brothers Robert Harnish, his wife Jill and their children Derrick, Robbie, Jake and Jesse of Vermont, and Randy Harnish of West Springfield, her sister Kathy Romanovicz, her husband Wally and their children Sara and Cody of Ludlow, MA.
Jeannie thoroughly enjoyed taking care of and watching her grandchildren play sports. She was the biggest fan of the Special Olympics community and enjoyed watching the participants practice and compete. Her keen sense of humor kept her and everyone else around her strong as she continued her ongoing battle with cancer. The day prior to her passing, she was able to watch her grandson's football game and enjoy her favorite bubblegum ice cream. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Jeannie wanted a Celebration of Life, which will be held at the UNICO BUILDING, Unico Way, West Springfield, MA 01089, on September 1, 2024 from 1-5PM.
Sansoucy Funeral Home is directing the arrangements.
