Jeanne passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025, after a wonderful celebration of her 100th birthday in May.
Jeanne was born in Southbridge, MA where she married Leon O. Poulin in 1948, raised six children, and worked for many years as an aide at Harrington Hospital before retiring. Jeanne and Leon were married for 50 years, until his passing in July 1999. In October of 2010, at the age of 85, she remarried to Joseph Adams until his death in February 2014.
Jeanne leaves six children. Cathy Poulin of Worcester, Elizabeth Poulin (Frank Steiner) of Marlborough, Melanie Poulin (Joseph Endyke) of Derry, NH, Pamela Higgins (Daniel Higgins, deceased) of Leicester, Michelle Poulin (Stewart Curboy) of Sturbridge, and Matthew Poulin (Rene Myers) of Framingham. She also leaves 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her four siblings Joseph (Cleo) Leduc, Theresa (Butch) Langlois, Yvette LeClair, and Claire Leduc.
Jeanne Poulin Adams was the matriarch of her large, always growing, family and a thoughtful caregiver by her very nature. She was a devoted Catholic evident by the loving example she set for her children. Jeanne lived a full life as a daughter, sibling, student, wife, mother, homemaker (she took great pride in her spotless house), and nurse’s aid. She also enjoyed the small and big things life had to offer. Her first love was her family, which grew into a small village, and provided her with unending pleasure. We all have cherished memories of time spent with her. Jeanne acquired a multitude of dear friends over her 100 years. Her husband Leon being her best and closest friend!
Jeanne enjoyed square dancing when she was younger, painting-by-number, crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. She always kept busy. Ironing, mending, keeping up with her children and grandchildren, and organizing her many (candid) pictures into albums. She enjoyed vacationing at various area lakes with her young family and later spending time with different family members on Cape Cod! She totally enjoyed her 50th wedding anniversary trip to Alaska. Attending church services and walking outdoors were simple pleasures that brought her joy.
Loretta Jeanne Leduc Poulin Adams lived a long, full life of struggles and happiness.
May she rest in peace. She will be in our hearts forever.
