Holland...Jeanne R. (Caouette) Gauvin, 79, died Monday, January 10, at UMass Memorial Health/Harrington after being stricken ill at home.
Her husband of 36 years was the late Robert J. Gauvin who died in March 1998. She was also predeceased by her son Robert A. Gauvin of Auburn who died in 2020.
She is survived by her daughters Janet and her husband Alan Jones of Southbridge and Melinda and her husband Michael Balser of Hudson, NH, 6 grandchildren Jessica and her husband Ronald Burgess, Samantha and her husband Christopher Economos, Aaron Jones and his fiancée Brianne Lamontagne, Krysta Balser, Dylan Balser and Nathan Pickett, and a great-granddaughter Emma Rose. She also leaves a daughter-in-law Susan Gauvin of Auburn, a sister-in-law Cheryl Caouette of Southbridge, and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Leon Caouette.
Jeanne was born in Southbridge, daughter of Armand and Rita (Letourneau) Caouette Papineau, and has lived most of her life in Holland. She graduated from the former Notre Dame High School in Southbridge. She was a member of St. Christopher's Church in Brimfield for many years. Jeanne was a school bus driver for Union 61 School District serving the towns of Sturbridge, Holland, and Brimfield. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, word searches, watching old movies, camping, and taking trips to the casino with her friends, but most enjoyed spending time with her family.
