Southbridge ~ Janice T. (Desourdy Parenteau) Boiteau died unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 26, 2022.
Janice is survived by her four children: Wayne A. Boiteau and his wife, Deborah, of Southbridge; Marc A. Boiteau and his partner, Becky Wetnicka, of Southbridge; Cheryl K. St. Pierre and her husband, Paul, of Southbridge; and Valerie A. Giguere and her husband, Peter, of Debary, FL; 12 grandchildren: Monique Bennett-Bonn, Marc St. Pierre, Gabrielle Boiteau Nicolas Boiteau, Benjamin Boiteau, Jakob Boiteau, Nathan Boiteau, Callie Boiteau, Phoebe Boiteau, Ashley Giguere, Stephen Giguere, and Dylan Giguere; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 very special friends: Barbara A. Boiteau (her children's step-mother), and Jack Fitts; many nieces, nephews, and extended family members; and her beloved furry companion, Rufus. Janice was predeceased by her former husband, Wayne A. Boiteau, Sr., their infant daughter, Barbara Ann Boiteau, and her brother, Ronald Desourdy.
Born in Southbridge, MA on February 16, 1945, Janice was the daughter of the late Robert and Rachel (LeBoeuf) Parenteau. After high school, she went on to graduate from cosmetology school, and worked as a hairstylist for a short time before going to work in the Lensdale Department of the former American Optical Company for many years. She retired as an optician from Lens Crafters. Janice was a member of St. John Paul II Parish in Southbridge, and she had a great devotion to St. Jude. She was a "Crafting Queen", enjoying making crafts of all kinds. She loved owls. Above all, Janice's greatest joy was her family.
Janice's funeral will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2022 from Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy Street, Southbridge, with a Mass at 11AM at Notre Dame Church, 446 Main Street, Southbridge, MA. Calling hours will be Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at the funeral home from 5-7PM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to either St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or World Bird Sanctuary, 125 Bald Eagle Ridge Road, Valley Park, MO 63088.
