Sturbridge - James Mayer, 73, died at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, following a brief illness.
Jim is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judith (Rivera) Mayer. They were married June 15, 1969. He is also survived by their daughters, Evelyn Mayer Leung, and her husband Keenan, of Queens, NY, and Aileen Mayer, and her partner Michael Braga, of Sturbridge, MA; his grandchildren, Emma and Erik Leung of Queens, NY; 2 brothers, John Mayer of Texas, and Michael Mayer of New Jersey; and his sister, Barbara Mayer, of Queens, NY.
Born in Bronx, NY, on October 16, 1946, he was the son of the late Martin and Eleanor (Regan) Mayer. He worked for the United States Post Office for 25 years. Following his retirement, he worked at a school bus driver for Lysak. He enjoyed watching "Let's Make a Deal" and "The Price is Right" daily. He also really enjoyed music, as well as his daily task of running errands.
