Ivette Santiago

Southbridge - Ivette Santiago, 58, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at her home.

Ivette was born on November 26, 1963, daughter of the late Pablo and Bernarda (Santana) Santiago, Sr. She is survived by her sons: Juan Manuel Orta, of Springfield, MA; Juan Ramon Orta, of Fitchburg, MA; and Juan Joshua Orta, of North Brookfield, MA.  She is also survived by her grandchildren: Josie Orta Masciarelli and Marcellus Orta Masciarelli; her sisters: Lydia Miller, of Virginia; and Evelyn Santiago of New York City, NY; and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her partner of 16 years, Rafael L. Orta, who died April 12, 2002; 3 brothers: Pablo Santiago, Jr., John Santiago, and Carlos Santiago; and 4 sisters: Maria Hamner, Elizabeth Santiago, Maria de los Ángeles Santiago, and Mita Luz Santiago.  

Ivette was a fighter. Through many obstacles in her life she stopped at nothing to make sure her sons were prepared with anything life threw at them. She spent her days taking care of her mother and children until her mother passed away. Those who knew her can attest that she would always give a helping hand when in need. 

Her funeral will be Monday, November 14, 2022, from Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy Street, Southbridge, MA, with a Mass at 12 Noon at St. Mary's Church, 263 Hamilton St., Southbridge.  Burial will immediately follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Charlton St., Southbridge.  A calling hour will be from 10:30-11:30AM at the funeral home prior to Mass.
