Hugh M. Hurd

Charlton...Hugh M. Hurd, 84, died Monday, August 30, 2021, at UMass Memorial Health/Harrington, after an illness.  He leaves his wife of 60 years, Janice M. (Cote) Hurd. They were married June 24, 1961. 

He also leaves his daughter Carolyn Adams and her husband Jeffrey of Spencer, a granddaughter Amanda Entwistle of Spencer, a grandson Nicholas Adams and his fiancée Tricia Aubuchont of Auburn, and 3 great-grandchildren Patrick and Jonathan Needham and Lilliana Glasier. 

He was born in Springfield, son of Merton B. and Mae E. (Cummings) Hurd.  He was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Charlton, and was a retired utility man working at General Motors for many years. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps where he served for 4 years.  He enjoyed fishing, painting cars, building bicycles, and watching Barrett Jackson on television. He also loved his cats Rusty and Pumpkin and his dogs Cherie and Peaches.

Funeral services will be private.
