Southbridge...Gabriel Abrego, 71, died January 14, 2024, at home. He leaves his wife of 37 years, Irma (Paulino) Abrego.
He leaves his daughter Stephanie Abrego of Southbridge, and a step-daughter, Dircia Acevedo of Southbridge, and 5 grandchildren: Nicholas, Isabella, Edward, Caroline, and Jonathan.
He is also survived by his brothers Joaquin Abrego, Marco Antonio Abrego, Rosario Abrego, and 3 sisters: Cecilia Abrego, Veronica Abrego, and Gloria Abrego, and many nieces and nephews.
He was born in El Salvador, son of Joaquin Gonzalo Abrego and Rosa Perez Abrego. He was a member of Saint Mary's Church., he graduated from high school, and attended college for two years. He worked for Curtis Industries for over 30 years. He enjoyed watching tv (especially NCIS), reading, and puzzles.
The funeral Mass will be held at 10am, on Saturday, January 20th, at Saint Mary's Church, 263 Hamilton Street, Southbridge. Burial will follow at St. Hedwig Cemetery, North Woodstock Road, Southbridge, MA 01550. Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 19th, from 5-7PM, at Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy Street, Southbridge.
