Florence C (Provost) Corriveau

Sturbridge...Florence C. (Provost) Corriveau, 91, passed away peacefully in her home, on Monday, June 3rd, surrounded by her loved ones. 

Florence's husband, and the love of her life, J. Normand Corriveau, predeceased her in 2020, after 69 years of marriage, along with her beloved dog, Zeke.  

Florence leaves a son, David Corriveau and his wife Cecile of West Brookfield, two daughters, Jane Corriveau of Holland, MA, Gail Hickland and her partner, Stephen McKeon of Holland, MA, two sisters, Madeleine Ingram and Lucille Mills, of Sturbridge, MA, two brothers, Rolland Provost and his wife Dorothy of Sturbridge, MA, and Hector Provost, Jr. and his wife Mary of Clearwater, FL. She also leaves a grandson Peter Drake and his wife, Suzy, of Holland, MA , a granddaughter, Jessica Rockhill and her husband Phillip, of Gansevoort, NY, her great-grandchildren Dillon Drake and his wife, Vanessa of Sturbridge, MA, Amber Drake and her husband, Julio Costa, of Worcester, MA, Reid and Porter Rockhill of Gansevoort, NY, and great-great-grandchildren, Oliver Drake Costa and Camila Florence Costa of Worcester, MA.  She was predeceased by her brother Gilles Provost and her sister Therese Augusto.

Florence was born in Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec, Canada, the daughter of Hector and Annette (Hebert) Provost and moved to the United States at a very early age.  Florence remained in this area for the remainder of her life.  Florence dedicated her life to creating a loving and caring home for her family.  She never hesitated to share her numerous talents as a seamstress, hairdresser, gardener, decorator, painter and counselor with the entire family and her friends.  Florence enjoyed spending time with her family playing cards, attending family reunions and cookouts, having dinner together, reminiscing and telling beautiful stories and caring for her loving dog, Julie.

Anyone who met Florence was always made to feel comfortable and welcomes.  Florence's greatest joy was being the Matriarch of her family, which included FIVE generations.  Florence was a devoted member of St. Anne/St. Patrick's Parish.  Florence will be missed by all that had the privilege of knowing her.

The family would like to thank the Hospice Staff of Overlook Nursing Care of Charlton, MA , for the exceptional care and support they provided to Florence and her family.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00AM, Saturday, June 15th, at St .Anne/St. Patrick's Parish, 16 Church Street, Fiskdale, MA.  Burial will follow immediately follow at Holland Cemetery, 29 Brimfield Road, Holland, MA.
