Ernest J. Arcoite

Sturbridge ~ Ernest "Ernie" J. Arcoite, Jr., 77, died Wednesday, December 28, 2022.  

Born on October 1, 1945, in Southbridge, MA, Ernie was the only child of the late Ernest J. and Olive (LaPane) Arcoite, Sr.  He was predeceased by his wife of 33 years, Karen (Farnham) Arcoite, who died July 12, 2021.  He is survived by his sons: Brian Arcoite, Sr, and his wife, Donna, of Southbridge; and Bradley Arcoite and his wife, Denise, of Holland, MA; his daughter, Tammy Rousseau, of Florida; a stepson, Keith LaChapelle and his wife, Carmen, of Southridge; a stepdaughter, Kristine Tourtellotte and her companion, Dan Schonman, of Sturbridge; 7 grandchildren: Brian Arcoite, Jr, his wife, Maura, and their son, Easton; Brett Arcoite and his wife, Emma; Nathan Russo; Narissa Tremblay; Liam Arcoite; Robin Reynolds and her husband, Eric; and Kevin Tourtellotte and his wife, Jocelyn; several great-grandchildren; his special extended family members: Denise and Rich LaChapelle of Sturbridge, and Kathy and Rich Cody of Wales, MA; and his beloved companion, Julie (Leduc) Parrettie. He was predeceased by his stepdaughters Kim Boutelle, and Kyle Robin Booth.  

Ernie was a member of the first graduating class of Southbridge High School with the class of 1964.  He worked for many years at the former American Optical Company in Southbridge.  He then he went on to own his own business, A&C Industries, until it was destroyed by a fire.  Among his many hobbies, Ernie enjoyed taking care of his greenhouses, fishing, hunting, camping, and making maple syrup.  He was known for his maple cotton candy, which he sold locally on the Sturbridge Common.  He was a longtime member of Canal Sportsman Club in Buzzard's Bay.
