Edgar "Sonny" C. Smick, Jr.

Southbridge..Edgar "Sonny" C. Smick, Jr, 88, died Thursday, September 25, 2025, after a long illness.  HIs wife of 58 years was the late Vivian (Lamothe) Smick who died September 28, 2015.  

He is survived by his 3 daughters:  Brenda and her husband Jerry Bellizzi of Brookfield, Rhonda and her husband  Jimmie Vilandre of Southbridge, and Cathy and her husband Steve Renaud of Southbridge, 5 grandchildren, Steven Renaud, Brandon Renaud, Alyssa Renaud, RJ Vilandre and Darren Vilandre, his great-granddaughters Jemma and Jewel Vilandre; and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his son Russell Smick who died in June 2020, and his grandson Mark Fitts in 2024.

Sonny was born in Southbridge, son of the late Edgar C. Smick, Sr. and Yvonne E. (Labelle) Smick, and has lived here all his life. He enjoyed camping for many years especially at Oak Haven Campground in Wales. He also enjoyed golfing, bowling on the senior bowling league, and playing quiots at the campground.

A graveside service at 11AM will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at OakRidge Cemetery, Southbridge.  There are no calling hours.
