Doris G. (Cournoyer) Tkacik

Sturbridge/Port Charlotte, FL...Doris G (Cournoyer) Tkacik, 91, of Port Charlotte, FL, and formerly of Southbridge and Sturbridge, died October 8, 2020, at Tidewell Hospice, after a brief illness. Her husband of 62 years, Edward P. Tkacik, died April 3, 2016.
She leaves her daughter Louise M and her husband James Amaral of Sturbridge, and her granddaughter Lindsay (Vrabel) and her husband Brian Rounds of Portland, Maine, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Gloriette Pappas and Pauline Renaud.

Doris was born in Southbridge, daughter Zepherin and Cecile (Girouard) Cournoyer, and lived most of her life in Southbridge before moving to Sturbridge and Florida. She graduated from the former Mary E. Wells High School, Class of 1947. She worked for many years at Curtain Concepts in Southbridge, both at Main Street and Hamilton Street locations. She was also a longtime member of Notre Dame Church.
