Donna Brunelle Obituary

Charlton... In Loving Memory of Donna Lee Brunelle (Braddock), of Charlton, Massachusetts, who passed peacefully into the arms of her Heavenly Father, surrounded by the love of her family. Known to all who cherished her as “Memé,” Donna lived a life defined by devotion — to her husband, her children, her grandchildren, and the God whose love she reflected to all those blessed to know her.

“Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.”

— Proverbs 31:28

Donna’s hands were rarely still — and never idle in love. She delighted in tending her gardens, coaxing beauty from the earth season after season, and she poured that same gentle patience into her sewing, where stitch by stitch she created keepsakes that will be treasured by her family for generations. A true New Englander at heart, she was a faithful fan of her beloved Boston sports teams, cheering on the Red Sox, Bruins, Celtics, and New England Patriots with the kind of loyalty and spirit that her family loved to share with her.

But her greatest joy was always her family. As a wife, mother, sister, and Memé, she gave freely and endlessly of her time, her wisdom, and her love. Her home was a place of warmth, where everyone who walked through the door felt welcomed, fed, and loved. Her arms were always open, her laughter easy, and her prayers constant.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her father, Lester Braddock Sr. of Halifax, Massachusetts, her mother, Mae Braddock (Blackwell) of Whitman, Massachusetts, her brothers, Lester “Ricky” Braddock Jr. of Burlington, Vermont,  her brother, John “Barry” Braddock of Burlington, Vermont, and her grandson Nicholas Stevens of Southbridge, Massachusetts.

She is lovingly survived by her devoted husband, Robert Brunelle of Charlton, Massachusetts, her sister, Karen Authier and her husband Daniel of Whitman, Massachusetts, her brother, Darren Braddock and his wife Samantha of Maidstone, Kent, United Kingdom.

She also leaves her cherished children: son, Greg Brunelle and his wife Aimée of Rangeley, Maine, daughter, Deanna Brunelle of Hastings, Michigan, and son, Robert Brunelle and his wife April of Boylston, Massachusetts.

Her beloved grandchildren, who knew her as Memé: Courtney Brunelle of Biddeford, Maine, Rebecca Brunelle of North Brookfield, Massachusetts, Jesse Whitaker of Sturbridge, Massachusetts, Jennifer Clark of Sturbridge, Massachusetts, Meagan O’Day of Morgantown, West Virginia, Chelsea O’Day-Navis and her husband Cameron of Hastings, Michigan, Sonnie O’Day of Pulaski, Virginia, Haley Gosselin of Spencer, Massachusetts, Jared Brunelle and his wife Meagen of Millbury, Massachusetts, Abigail Brunelle of Brookfield, Massachusetts, Ethan Brunelle of Brookfield, Massachusetts, and Aiden Brunelle of Southbridge, Massachusetts. She is also lovingly survived by 9 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

Donna’s life was a living testimony to the quiet, steady, and abiding love of a mother. Though our hearts ache at her passing, we find comfort in knowing she is at peace, and that the love she planted in each of us — like the gardens she tended so faithfully — will continue to bloom in every generation that follows.

Rest in peace, Memé.

Forever loved. Forever remembered.
