Diane P. (Ditomasso) Butler

Diane P. Butler ( Bubby) age 79, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 4th 2024, surrounded by her family, after her long battle with Dementia. 

She was born December 17, 1944, in Southbridge, MA, daughter of the late Guido and Laurette (Benoit) Ditomasso.   

Diane was first married to her “Darling Sweetheart”, Ralph Jr. (Buddy) Drake, from Charlton, who predeceased her in 1968.  She later married Craig Butler, also from Charlton, in 1969.  She will be sorely missed by her daughter Amy E. (Butler) Sibley and significant other Ronald Lariviere, and by her grandchildren: Chelsea (Tower) Bendler and wife Kelly Bendler , Savannah Sibley, and Isabella Sibley;  as well as by Brenna Sibley, whom she loved like her own grandchild; and by her lifelong friends: Paula Quatrocelli, Judy Maskell, Natalie Gail Lotti and Beverly Daoust.  Diane was predeceased by her two brothers, Richard and Ronald Ditomasso.  

Diane worked at the Sheraton/ Sturbridge Host for over 27 years and was also a local florist in the Charlton/Oxford area until her retirement. 

These are just a few words and memories of my mother/our Bubby that we will miss and cherish forever : 
Beautiful inside and out , self pride, the beach, Ol’Bay Queen, talented, her artful handwriting, sense of style, her iconic silver jewelry, head turning smile, The Boston Pops, The Nutcracker, Willie Nelson and Elvis Christmas albums, making morning French toast with her grandchildren. She went above and beyond to make things memorable. Taking endless pictures saying “ These are your memories!” . 
We will share these memories and traditions for generations to come . She was love, comfort, and she was home. 

Mom, you will always be our Bubby. We love you to the Beach and back. ♥️

Pastor Robert Grattaroti of St. Joseph's Church at 10H Putnam Road, Ext.  Charlton, MA. will be honoring Diane Butler with a Mass on Sunday Dec. 8th at 5:00PM.  There will also be candles lit in her memory for the week starting on Dec. 1st. Thank you for attending and/or sharing as a way to honor Diane's memory.
