David Lamontagne Obituary

Sturbridge ~ David Brian Lamontagne, 66 years old, passed away on November 25, 2024.  David was born January 5, 1958 in Bourne, MA.

David leaves his wife Patty Lamontagne.  They recently celebrated 42 years of marriage.  He also leaves his daughters Jennifer Lamontagne of Sturbridge and Holly Lamontagne and her husband Tim Merchant of Palmer, his son David P. Lamontagne and his wife Marissa Lamontagne of Sturbridge, and his four grandchildren Kaitlyn Reed, Jacob Reed, David G. Lamontagne, and Evan Lamontagne.  He also leaves behind his mother Irene Soter, his brothers Charles Lamontagne, Mark Lamontagne, and Paul Lamontagne, his Godchildren Joseph Lamontagne, Kyle Brodeur, and Caline Delgado; many nieces and nephews and he had a special place in his heart for Troy Dearnley and Kyle Brodeur. 

David was a part-time Police Officer in the town of Southbridge, and a full-time Police Officer in the town of Sturbridge.  He worked forty years at the Tri-Community YMCA as a Building Superintendent.  He was also a member of the Hamilton Rod & Gun Club.

David enjoyed watching Nascar racing with his oldest daughter Jennifer, who is severely disabled.  He devoted his life to her wellbeing, and provided a home of love and comfort for her.  David had a great sense of humor that he shared with his daughter Holly.  They shared a special bond and she will forever be his little princess.  His son little David enjoyed attending car shows, together they won many trophies.  They worked on tractors and anything with a motor, and were just great buddies.  David was proud of his children and grandchildren.

David's best friend was his brother Paul who brought him for daily rides and shared a lifetime of special memories throughout their lives.

David was predeceased by his father Charles R. Lamontagne, his former son in law Todd Reed, and longtime friend Edward Keefe.

Per David's wishes there will be no calling hours and the burial will be at the convenience of the family.  Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy Street, Southbridge, MA is entrusted with his care.
