Obituary

Woodstock...Daniel J. Yvon, 87, died June 13, 2023, at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, after being stricken ill at home.  He is survived by his wife Astrid (Peterson) Yvon. 

He was born in Southbridge, March 7, 1936, son of Charles and Hilda (Perry) Yvon and has lived in Woodstock for many years.  He is survived by his brother Norman and his wife Suzanne Yvon of Woodstock, and 2 stepsons: Mark Blanchard and his wife Debra of N. Attleborough, Allen Johnson and his wife Amanda of Holland, MA and an adopted daughter April Yvon of Naugatauk, and step-daughters Deborah Simpson of Woodstock, and Sharon Lareau of Cherry Valley, New York.  He leaves his step-grandchildren,  Dara Blanchard, Joe Blanchard and Brody Blanchard, and a step-great-grandchild.  He was predeceased by his sister Pauline (Yvon) Borden. 

He was a graduate of the former Notre Dame High School, Class of 1954, and also from Assumption College where he obtained his Bachelor's Degree.

Daniel worked as a tree pruner for an apple orchard, and previously worked at the American Optical Company in the accounting office.  He enjoyed painting, hunting, sports, baseball, ice skating and fishing. 

A service will be held at 11AM, Saturday, July 8th, at the First United Methodist Church, 449 Main Street, Southbridge, MA 01550.
