Constance "Connie" T. (LaFleche) Proulx

Southbridge - Constance Theresa (LaFleche) Proulx, 84, died Monday, June 12, 2023 at UMass Memorial Healthcare University Campus in Worcester, MA.  

Connie, beloved mother and Memère, was born in Southbridge, MA on October 24, 1938, Connie was the daughter of the late Rosaire and Simone LaFleche. She was predeceased by her husband, Paul A. Proulx, who died September 1, 2000.  They were married on October 11, 1958.  She is also predeceased by her sons Paul R. Proulx who died in February 2004 and Robert O. Proulx who died in February 2019, her grandson Christopher P. Proulx who died in March 1991, and her brother Richard LaFleche.

Connie will be greatly missed by her surviving children Marlene (Richard) Proulx of Webster, MA, Richard A. & Nancy Null Proulx of Londonderry, NH, Ronald D. & Andree Proulx of Boxborough, MA, Peter & Sue Proulx of Millbury, MA, and Pamela A. (Proulx) & Randy Clemence of Ayer, MA; her many grandchildren Julianne Proulx, Noah Proulx, Julia Proulx (and her fiancé Jack Brackett), Richard Proulx, Allen Proulx (and his wife Clare Gallagher), Josiah Proulx, Danielle Proulx, Abigail Clemence, Michelle Proulx, Anabelle Clemence, Daniel Lent (and his wife Stephanie Lent), Robert Lent (and his wife Kathy Lent), and Kathleen Mayer (and her husband Jonathan Mayer), as well as, her great-grandchildren Cadence, Camden, Cason, and Ellie; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and her sisters-in-law, Madelène Proulx and Lillian LaFleche.

Connie & Paul were both graduates with the Class of 1956 from the former Notre Dame High School in Southbridge, she also attended the University of Massachusetts. Connie worked for many years as an Executive Assistant to the Director of Nursing at the former Worcester State Hospital.  She earlier had worked in the admissions office at Harrington Memorial Hospital.  After her retirement, Connie volunteered at Harrington as a greeter.  Together with her husband, she was very involved with Notre Dame Church; she served on many church committees, including the Fall Festival Committee.  She also previously served on the Parish Council.  From 2019 until recently, Connie had been living at Brookdale at Eddy Pond where she enjoyed playing cribbage, making puzzles, crafting and coloring, and was well-loved by staff and residents. 

Above all, Connie's greatest joys came from her large and loving family. 

Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 16, 2023, from 5-7P at Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy Street, Southbridge, MA 01550. The funeral Mass will be Saturday, June 17th, at 10AM at Notre Dame Church (St. John Paul II Parish) 446 Main Street, Southbridge, MA.  Burial will be private.
