Our beloved Christine "Chrissy" Wieland Jenkins passed away peacefully on January 5, 2021, surrounded by love and admiration. Easily remembered for her big heart, Chrissy was a beautiful person with a genuine soul. Chrissy valued her recovery, and selflessly gave of herself for others. Her non-judgemental views guided her in advocacy for the goodness of humanity.
Chrissy was born on September 6, 1984 in Manchester, CT. Moving to Sturbridge, MA in 1985, she attended the Tantasqua Regional school district, graduating with her diploma in 2002. Chrissy, along with her sister Carrie, her friends and her teammates, won the Central Mass Tennis Doubles Championship her senior year; as well as winning the team SWCL and District Champ titles. She and her team were inducted into the Tantasqua Hall of Fame for their accomplishments. Chrissy used her leadership skills throughout her journey, motivating those around her. Chrissy attended the University of Hartford, with her little sister in tow, and earned her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. Empathy and compassion led her to earn her Master's Degree in Psychology with a minor in Business as well. She has always been admired for her determination to challenge herself and those around her.
Chrissy valued her family relationships and connections. She lit the path for her little sister, Carrie, to show her the way. Sharing an indescribable bond, the two sisters were often thick as thieves and called the "Doublemint Twins", protecting and supporting each other. Chrissy, a dependable role model, and Carrie, optimistically enjoyed this amazing thing called life by each other's side. The family homes on the Cape and in Blue Hill, ME provided an oasis to make amazing memories with her loved ones. Her family and her faith were special to Chrissy; loyalty, honesty, and respect were core values of hers. Being a mother to Cadence was her proudest moment, followed by being an aunt and Godmother to Connor. Chrissy loved to pass on her talents: dancing, sports, learning languages, and journaling. And she was passionate about many things: music, traveling, festivals, and bearing tattoos depicting important milestones on her journey.
Chrissy is survived by her daughter, Cadence; her sister, Carrie; and her nephew/Godson, Connor; her parents, Kathy and Eric Wieland, and his wife, Susan, and their daughters Ashley and Katie; her uncles Kevin and Dirk; her aunts Mary Ann, Jennifer, and Marie; her cousins Patrick and his wife, Olyssia, and their children Sasha and Leila; Lt. Cmdr. A. Poulin and his wife, Lt. Cmdr. K. Kropa; G. Poulin; Lt. S. Poulin and his wife, A. Poulin; Lt. K. Poulin; B. Poulin and his son, Jackson; and Jonathan and Olivia Wieland. She is predeceased by her beloved grandparents, Robert and Virginia Noddin of Osterville, MA, and Edward and Charlotte Wieland of Blue Hill, ME.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date in order to respectfully honor Chrissy and her beautiful journey. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a small service will be held in private for family and close loved ones. Donations in Chrissy's memory can be made to a recovery program of your choice, and condolences can be left here on Chrissy obituary page for her family.
